Change
CHANGE
Expanding … contracting …
breathing out … breathing in …
Life is about change
in the midst of constancy.
We go to the Fair. We watch horses run.
And in the midst of our laughter
and whispered fears
sits a statue
at the foot of your stairs
who seems to have it all
together.
And yet somehow
she envies us—
our laughter
and our chaos
as we run
up the stairs …
to
meet, embrace, and dance again
with “change.”
If we are alive and breathing, there is probably an inner voice telling us to move—to move up and out to help somebody, to move to make amends, to move toward the art we feel inside—to move toward our destiny.
